Reb Chaim Kanievsky

Reb Chaim Kanievsky
Painting a Gadol is a humbling task, where I endeavour to capture the heavenly facial glow as best as possible. To further this goal, the yellow background gives a sort of halo aura around him, embodying the sanctity of the Torah that he’s learning.
I love the use of complementary colours here; the yellows and oranges in the background are a lovely contrast to Reb Chaim’s cardigan.
