When being commissioned to capture a loved one, the difficulty is ensuring not only a true likeness, but the client has to ‘feel’ the subject through the painting. I take this responsibility seriously and worked intently to make all the client requested corrections until we achieved the perfect result. At the time of this picture the subject was unwell and the client wanted him to look as he used to in his better years. Adding pink hues really infuses life and youth into the subject, and the client was very pleased with the result.
